April and May 2017
On April 15th Steve Bien and Lynda Fournier led a walk at French Falls walk along the Androscoggin River in Jay, and on May 6th Steve Bien led our annual warbler walk along the Whistlestop Trail in West Farmington the bird tallies are as follows:
1) French Falls : Goldfinch, Robin, Black-capped Chickadee, Blue Jay, Canada Goose,Common Merganser, Double Crested Cormorant, Phoebe, Pine Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Song Sparrow,
Tufted Titmouse, White Breasted Nuthatch, and both male and female Wood Ducks
2) Warbler Walk – not many warblers yet but the birds seen or heard were:
Mourning dove
Downy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker
Hermit thrush
Black capped chickadee
Winter wren
House wren
Blue jay
Ruffed grouse
Wood duck
Yellow Shafted flicker
Common merganser
American goldfinch
Blue headed vireo
Pine warbler
Red Winged black bird
